Early Life[]
As a kittypet, Lace always wanted to go explore the forest. When she saw Starpaw for the first time, she was quite frightened thinking the apprentices would hurt her. Luckily, Starpaw wasn't upset about Lace being on Stoneclan Territory. Starpaw tried to get Lace to join the clan, eventually, she said yes. As she waited, she saw Starpaw creeping through the garden. Running through the catflap, as she ran to defend Starpaw , who was wondering why Lace was defending her. Whispering "raccoons" Lace scratched the raccoons, after being hit down, Starpaw defended her friend but was knocked through the air into the wooden fence. Runningpaw stood at the fence as he dragged the two she-cats by their scruffs through the small hole in the fence. Waking up, she was in the Medicine Cat's Den. The first thing she noticed was her pink collar was ripped off.

As the kittypet pondered around the camp, she was devistated, thinking her owners would be heartbroken, and replace her.
